In 1972, METRO TRUCK & TRACTOR LEASING opened for business with two trucks; and a belief that personalized service and meticulously maintained vehicles were the keys to a successful truck-leasing business.
At that time, METRO offered an exclusive on-site maintenance program through which extensively equipped mobile service units and highly skilled mechanics were sent to the customer's location for routine preventive maintenance procedures. That service -- and the no mileage charges' policy that METRO has also offered since its founding -- has been an important part of METRO's success over the years.
Because of its continued success and related growth, in 1989, METRO moved to its current home in Beltsville, Maryland -- strategically located just off Interstate 95, between Washington, D.C., and Baltimore. This 30,000-square-foot building was designed by the METRO staff and is one of the best -equipped high-tech truck facilities in the country.
Currently, METRO leases approximately one thousand trucks to companies ranging in size from international corporations to small family-owned businesses. And, 37 years later, METRO is proud that its very first customer is still a loyal and satisfied METRO customer today.
